Our biggest highlight continues to be Football 4 WASH with Viva con Agua. Over the last couple of years, we worked on how we could combine the passion we have for football and for kids with social development. We found our ground in water sanitation and hygiene (W.A.S.H) sensitisation, and then we met Viva con Agua in 2015. The rest is history.
As you may later read in detail, the Primary Schools League, the Slums Derby and the Christmas Camp continue to grow in majesty and impact.
We finally made it into the streetfootballworld network. It took us a couple of years re-aligning our activities and the operations of our NGO, and it made us a better organisation. The membership makes us a part of a global movement and network of more than a hundred organisations using football to change the world.
A huge thank you to dozens of individuals and organisations who support Football Made in Slums, and to the tens of volunteers who donate their time to give the kids a time of their lives.
We are not done yet, 2019 will be even more exciting, with Football 4 WASH and the girls’ programmes taking more centre stage. Tighten your seat belt and let’s ride into 2019 with more enthusiasm because thousands of slum kids will come, play and learn, but most importantly – melt your hearts with thousands of smiles.
With warmth, a thousand smiles and gratitude,
