Watoto Wasoka Annual Report – 2024

Resource Description

This was a year of bold experimentation, meaningful growth, and important lessons.

We piloted play-based learning approaches in schools and deepened our mental health outreach across slum communities. Our signature events: the Women’s Derby, the Slums Derby, and the Christmas Camp, continued to offer fun, friendship, and football for thousands of children.

A major milestone this year was the decision to host separate boys’ and girls’ Christmas Camps after five years of combined editions. The impact was immediate: more girls attended, reported feeling safer, and expressed strong enthusiasm to return. It was a powerful reminder that inclusion requires intentional design.
