Arguably the biggest festival for slum kids in Uganda, the Slums Derby truly brings football home. Slum kids from all over Kampala and beyond can use that weekend in May to fight for the bragging rights in the slums. The programme also includes workshops designed around Football 4 WASH games that helps the participants to engage in fun-filled learning. We invite teachers and coaches from schools around the country to scout and present the kids with opportunities that range from scholarships, bursaries to placements. We run all this in the middle of Kampala’s biggest slums. Since 2013, and every other year, we take the festival to a new slum. We are coming to a slum near you.
